 Roll Eyes well, you see I have all these screen capture videos I still need to edit....

Basically, you create a partition. Give it at least 256M byte RAM (desired 768M), physical/virtual ethernet, physical/virtual storage (your choices). If you have a NIM server, create a machine, assign a LPP_SOURCE and a SPOT, activate with console, and install.

If you dont have NIM, you will need to assign the DVD to the partition, either physically - via it's profile, or as a virtual device on the vhost adapter you are using for the partition.

None of it is really difficult, but there are a lot of little things you need to know. As I am taking off on vacation I am trusting others to be more helpful as your next questions start coming.

The short answer: if you can make the client partition, installing AIX is the same as installing VIOS, as VIOS is an "appliance" built on AIX.

Installing Linux. Installation is the same as installing on a regular system. Just have to have the partition made.

One simple question. How to install AIX5L or Linux on logical partition after i configured VIOS?
