install_all installs all base level filesets

update_all only updates the already installed software, only installing base software if it is needed to support an update.

There is an issue: the boot block (hd5) may need to be enlarged, and your old installation media will not be useable for maintenance.

Check the vgGuides, HOWTO area on how to create a boot-only CDROM once you have finished your update - for emergencies. There is also a discussion on updating the TL06 elsewhere in the forums. Try the Forum Search.

Is any one know, Is there any issue while installing the TL-06 on AIX5.3-ML-04 ?

I am going to use this command on command line after APP / Datbase down "installp -agXYd <<<mount point>>> all" , Is any one see any issue while using this command ?

What is the difference then using smitty install_all and smitty update_all
