There are a number of standard commands.

lsvg <name_ofvg> ## Purpose: check for stale disks and partitions
lsvg -l oldDisk
lsvg -l newDisk

lslv -m of logical partitions on either disk

lspv
lqueryvg -g VGID -At

=======
The difficulty is in understanding why you used the -f option, as -f (for force) is optional, There was probably something else wrong as well.

Suntax 1.
replacepv [ -f ] {SourcePhysicalVolume | SourcePhysicalVolumeID} DestinationPhysicalVolume

The difficulty here is that under normal circumstances Segmentation faults are caused by applications, not by part of the OS.

In any case, more info is needed, such as:

migrating from what to what; why were you doing a replacepv while doing a migration (an O/S migration, application migration, or was it a move from one system to another (migration in AIX usually means a migration install of AIX); do you have a backup of the volumn group (savevg, or something else).

In any case, without some added info about what you intended to accomplish - more than this is difficult.

Hi,

We were not using the OSmigration, We were using the replacepv -f command ONLINE to move the data from one physical disk to other physical disks. Now there is a corruption ind VGDA. Could you help me to correct the VGDA information.

I guess first of all some report of the current status of the disks, and the logical volumes.

I am copying the whole to the new forums, and shall continue there.

Is this an AIX coredump (didthe system crash)? Or a core file generated? If it's a core file generate, can you tell me what command you were running?
what is the state of the VG?

Thanks
