Hi guys,

Ran across this and thought it might be of interest.

AIX5L Wiki

Yes it is. And, in some ways saddening - as it was on my todo list.

I am wondering - is there any reason for rootvg to start a wiki on AIX?

I guess one big difference might be that it could be more multi-version, and including, in time, more about older versions of AIX that the IBM wiki might.

And what a name we would have: wiki.rootvg.net.

Comments?

Well, there are three obvious routes to go.

1) Make a competing wiki. Nothing wrong with some healthy competition.

2) Collaborate. If IBM is willing, co-host or mirror and add content to the joint project.

3) Don't do a wiki at all. Let IBM do the work and simply put up a link to it.

I can see good and bad points for all three possibilities. If you can swing it, I think option 2 would be the best for all parties.

I concur.

And either it is #3, or #1 followed by #2.

When you get it set up, let me know some topics you want covered.

I have downloaded two wiki versions to setup, and then there is playing with them both to see which one "we", rootvg members, prefer.

Topics?? Why do think I have been so slow getting a wiki up. There are so many things to work on.

I hope that a rootvg wiki is more than just a rehash of information, or a cut/paste of manuals. My hope will be a wiki of best practices, and/or expericiences on topics of hard to find hints and examples.

Well, you should have seen the DokuWiki link under the Forums.

If you are an expercienced wiki editor, perhaps you feel yourself "called" to helpout with getting it setup.

The other wiki I'll be installing is MediaWiki. But that will be tomorrow I expect.
