Turning on mutiboot (I think) requires that you specify the boot device. It will not automatically boot but drop you to an SMS prompt. This is helpful if you are testing multiple OSs on different disks.

As far as I know, not specifically Linux or AIX.

Wasn't that to do with having Linux on the same box with AIX,
on different disks.

1) it is not to have different boot blocks from a single device
2) i havent looked at it in years, what i recall is that the SMS memu starts up differently - perhaps in which you specify the boot device everytime.

It has been years - maybe someone else knows without testing Smiley

Hi ,

Anybody out there knows what multiboot startup options in the AIX SMS do ?

My guess was that one may be able to boot two different AIX versions in one disk .. If thats possible could you please pass the procedure on how to do it .
