Thanks Odi.

HACMP relies very heavily on your knowldge of IP and AIX logical volume management.

So, be familiar with IP network addressing, netmasks, and aliasing. And it is useful, for your understanding, if you know how to create and modify volume groups and logical partitions from the command line. Also, study command importvg. HACMP relies heavily on the behavior of importvg for onlining and synchronizing ODM information.

I found it very helpful.

I would like to start learning HACMP, and hope to take a class
at end of March. However, I would like to start reading and
experimenting now. Unfortunately, I really do not have any
HA experience, aside from having a high level understanding
of its job and purpose. I was hoping some of you could suggest
a specific redbook, or know of any other resource where I could
start reading up on HACMP to get a beginners understanding of it.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
