First thing I would do is install all devices on system you are copying, and make the CD's again.

When cloning like this it is imperative that the image have all devices in the image - then it can, in principle, install anywhere. Also, install the bos.mp (multi_processor) image even if the original server can run the bos.up (uni-processor) images.

Additional info:

I created a MKSYSB image and used the MKCD command to create an ISO image which i burned on another machine.

I boot from the cd, and attempt to restore from a backup...

The backup quits with the BOS Install: Could not populate devices directory.

The source machine is running AIX 5.1

Somebody help me out here, this error is killing me right now.

I am trying to clone a server on an identical H80 minus some fibre adaptors.... Disk space isn't an issue as the physical drives are double the capacity of the source machine.

Any help will be appreciated.
