just as a note for those not used to working with nim: nim also supports diag boot.

And that is how I would resolve it.

With SSA, after formating the disks you could consider making a RAID array, letting it build, and then returning them back to JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Disk) mode.

What I have done before is to boot the system to standalone diagnostics and perform a low level format of the drive via the service aids in the diagnostics.

If I remember correctly, there is also an overwrite feature in the format service aid that writes patterned/random data to the disk with multiple passes. However, I don't remember if it is for SCSI or SSA drives.

hello!

we gave a h70 back. and i have to clean/format the mashine!

is ist possible to "format" des hdd from a nim?

or is there any  other solution?
